There will be a public meeting concerning shale development in Ashtabula County on July 13 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jefferson, OH (Ashtabula County). The church is located at 41 E Jefferson Street in Jefferson.
The co-sponsors of this public meeting are: FaCT-Faith Communities Together for a Sustainable Future, the NAACP of Ashtabula County, the Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake County Farmers Union, and the Ashtabula County Water Watch.
The public meeting will include presentations on shale infrastructure in the county, legislative work to help remediate some of the problems with shale development, and information about how the Ohio Health Registry can help persons living in the vicinity of shale development.
Following the meeting, a light lunch will be served, after which the Ohio Health Registry will enroll interested attendees, starting at 12:30 p.m. (You do not have to attend the public meeting to enroll in the Registry at 12:30, though the information shared in the public meeting may be useful to you.)
